Self-advocate from Peru: Accessing the Ballot Box

In this 2015 video, which was produced by Inclusion International with support from the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) as part of the My Voice Matters! campaign, a self-advocate from Peru who has an intellectual disability speaks up about her disagreement at disenfranchising citizens because they are under guardianship.

Maria Alejandra: I come from Peru. Because disabled people have the right to vote. I have friends that cannot vote, they are interdicted. My partners, Lina Rosario and Pamela, I do not agree with interdiction.
