Amid Georgia's historic election that saw the first transfer of presidential power through the ballot box, the nation's civil society organizations and election administration made strides to ensure the political and electoral process was accessible and inclusive for all citizens, including those with disabilities. This video was produced by the Central Election Commission (CEC), the Coalition for Independent Living (CIL), and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). Narrator: The October 27 presidential election will be accessible for persons with disabilities. On Election Day, mobile groups will operate in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Gori and Telavi. The teams will provide transportation for voters in wheelchairs to the polling stations. With regards to voters with hearing impairments, sign language interpreters will operate on Election Day throughout all of Georgia. Sign language interpreters are also standing by to provide assistance to voters via Skype.
